Mobile Messaging Privacy Policy

POLICY

This Mobile Messaging Privacy policy describes how the center collects, uses, and protects information related to SMS/text messaging communications sent through the SIS Complete platform operated by Surgical Information Systems (“SIS”).

Surgical Information Systems (SIS) is an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) that provides the SIS Complete platform and facilitates secure communications on behalf of Scottsdale Surgery Partners LLC dba North Valley Surgery Center (“Center”), the healthcare provider and end-sender of record.

This Notice applies specifically to SMS/text messaging communications associated with the Center’s patient care coordination, operational workflows, and related services.

The Center will collect personal information, including your name, email address, phone number, and other information you provide when interacting with our services. The center will use this information to provide and improve our services, communicate with you, and respond to inquiries. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. 6. Care coordination notifications to a patient’s designated caregiver, authorized pickup contact, or authorized representative.

All medical records, financial details, and protected account information remain behind secure authentication and are not transmitted directly within SMS messages.

Consent to Receive Messages

Patients provide written consent to receive SMS communications from the Center in connection with their care, surgical visit, or related operational communications.

Caregiver/authorized pickup contacts and authorized representatives receive messages only when their contact information is provided by the patient and the patient authorizes such communications.

Authorized workflow participants receive workflow-only SMS notifications after:

  • being provisioned an SIS Complete account by the Center, and
  • voluntarily providing and opting in with their mobile number.

Message frequency may vary depending on patient activity, scheduled procedures, operational workflow participation, and communication preferences.

Two-Way Messaging

Certain SMS messages may allow limited responses, such as:

  • appointment confirmations,
  • operational acknowledgments, or
  • brief care coordination communications.

Two-way texting, when enabled, is limited to operational and healthcare-related purposes and does not include marketing or promotional content.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Mobile information, SMS opt-in data, and text messaging consent information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

All categories of information described in this Notice exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties except as necessary to facilitate the secure delivery of SMS communications or as otherwise required by law.

The Center may utilize trusted service providers, vendors, and platform providers, including Surgical Information Systems (SIS), solely for the purpose of supporting secure healthcare communications, operational workflows, and related services.

Security

SMS communications are facilitated through secure systems and controlled workflows designed to support patient privacy and operational security.

Links delivered through the SIS Complete system utilize the security sis complete cloud domain and Center-specific subdomains. Certain communications may also include secure links to authorized billing or statement portals operated by trusted vendors.

Because SMS is not always a fully encrypted method of communication, patients should avoid sending sensitive personal, financial, or medical information through text messages unless specifically directed through a secure authenticated portal.

Opting Out

Recipients may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to a message, where supported, or by contacting the Center directly.

Operational workflow recipients may also manage SMS notification preferences within their SIS Complete account settings, where applicable.
